This thing called Marriage
Yes, we did that thing where we commit to each other for the rest of our lives...and beyond. I must say it isn't bad. Its actually quite wonderful! We have been married for 1 month and two days and it has been grand.
Let's take a trip back to June 23 on the day of our wedding.
I got up at 7 am because I couldn't sleep anymore. I had an incredible conversation with my dad until 9, which is exactly what I needed to calm my nerves and make the day feel a little more normal. I do love the chats I have with my dad. My older sister came over around 9:30 and started to do my hair after I did my make up. I was due at the temple at 11:00 with my groom-to-be and I hate to be late!
After all the getting ready was done, I grabbed my temple bag, my dress, my veil and a bag with a bunch of random things in it (hairspray, make up, lip gloss, jewelry...) and set off to the temple! I picked up my fiancé at our apartment and away we went. We got all checked in and I realized that they expected me to have an escort when before, when I had called them on the phone, they said it "wasn't necessary." So I snagged my soon to be Aunt Pat and Zach and I did some paperwork and they put me in a room with some other brides and I started to get ready. My mom and Tammy (Zach's mom) came in a little bit later in a state of panic because the cute temple ladies told my mom we hadn't arrived yet! Tammy thought Zach had chickened out and taken off! But no, we were there, and ready to go!
We were lead to a room where the temple sealer talked to us and we went into the sealing room where all of our family and friends were there waiting for us. The ceremony began and it was incredible and I just adore my husband so very much. I realized how important it was to be sealed together in the Lord's house and how lucky I am to be with Zach for the rest of my life as long as we are living the way we should be. It is such a comforting idea that no matter what, we will always be together.
After the sealing, we got ready again and then it was time to celebrate! This would be better told in pictures, so here we go!
