Spring Break-then and now

Oh Spring Break. A time when college age kids flee their college town for something bigger and better, leaving behind their backpacks, planners and worries...Except this girl. I have been so spoiled with my spring breaks the past 3 years of my life. My senior year of high school, I went with two friends down to St. George which was a big feat for us only being 18 and what not. Ben George, Taylor Smith and me taking on the Dixie Land. It was fun, don't you doubt.
My freshman year, I went to California with my wonderful roommates Stefani and Tara. We packed my car, and took off.  We had a blast and I simply love these two even more because they put up with me! We threw caution to the wind, met some marines, walked on the beach and shopped like crazy. That was my very first college Spring Break and I absolutely fell in love with the week of bliss away from school.

Last year, I went on a cruise with my roommate Tara (Stefani went off and got married..who does that? :P ) But first, we stopped in *Vegas*. It was Tara's first time in Sin City and I loved showing her around! Then it was off to California to get on a boat and head to Mexico. That was the Spring Break to never be beat. It was mine and Tara's last hurrah before she was to move to Heber, then to the MTC, then to Ukraine and leave for 18 long months. We made the most of it tho!

Best Friends

This year, Spring Break 2012, was a tad bit different for a few reasons...
            1) Tara is on a mission
            2) I'm engaged to Zach
            3) I'm going on a honeymoon in 3 months, so we gotta save our $$$
            4) Zach had to work to pay for that honeymoon, and I had to teach my students
 (I believe they call that...responsibility)
So there ya have it, what do two college students who have little to no money and a whopping 4 days off do?

Well, besides sleeping in, eating everything, watching the Bachelor finale, drinking our weight in Mt. Dew, doing homework, hanging out with Preston and his family, playing wiffle ball in the backyard, 4 wheeling with Dunker, taking naps, planning the wedding, reading the Hunger Games on my dad's kindle (Which I renamed the kindle, 'Kimball' ) and seeing the Lorax, we decided to take a little road trip to Bryce Canyon. I had never been there, and frankly I hate the great outdoors, but Zach and I have never gone hiking together, so we set out Tuesday morning for the adventure! And an adventure it was.
I learned a few things out there:

a) Zach is the most patient person in the world
 b) I'm not always right, but I usually am...but not always
c) running shoes aren't the same as hiking shoes
d) Asian tourists love to take pictures
e) I have a creative imagination when it comes to rock formations (the Indian and the owl)

Right before our 2.5 mile hike
Found these cool hallways in the rocks.

We conquered these wigglets like a BOSS

Found Thor's hammer and the triplets
We made the most of our Spring Break and only have 7 more weeks of school until we get to embrace summer. I am so blessed to have such an incredible fiancé who loves everything about me. I don't know how I got so lucky! He is just the best person I know. He's there for me when I don't want to hike anymore, when I get upset, or angry, and  he supports me no matter what. Through the thick and thin. Team Card forever!

Jazz Night

Ok, well not the Utah Jazz, but Jazz music! Zach took me to the Utah State University Cain College of the Arts Jazz night. We had a good time and I figured out that I need to teach Zach how to dance. He gets dizzy very very fast.

I felt all cultured and what not sitting there with my mocktail (a fake cocktail) and listening to the jazz music that was played.

We walked around after and went to visit Old Main. We are so lucky to have such a beautiful campus here in Logan! Our woman's basketball team won, so the A on Old Main was blue! I decided we had to take a picture.
