Hooray for finals being over! I hope everyone survived. Gratefully, I will not have to take anymore finals during my undergraduate career. Next semester, I have two portfolios to do, one for my elementary education degree and one for my special education degree. I swear May 4th can not come soon enough! Graduation will be a bittersweet event.
There hasn't been anything super new to announce, but there will be! There are some big things coming up. Tara (my very best college friend) is coming home from her mission on Tuesday! That is only 5 days away! I am absolutely ecstatic! We have my family Christmas party coming up, our very first Christmas as a married couple, Nate's last Christmas phone call (He gets home at the end of May...yay!) and my 22nd birthday and of course, welcoming in the new year! Phew! That is a lot. I love the Holiday season. I love the feeling of the season.
I finished my Kindergarten practicum last Friday, and it light of the terrible shooting event that occurred today, I am very grateful for the safety of the people in my life that I love, and my heart goes out to those families who lost loved ones today in Connecticut. I watched the news at my parents house, and I was so grateful to be in a safe, warm home knowing those I love are safe. It's sad that things like this happen.
Stay updated for lots of posts over the break. I am likely to become incredibly bored with Zach working a lot and may need to have regular rants, and who knows, I may post something actually worth reading ;)
Here's to the Holidays! Enjoy!

Fall Family Fun
Where did October go?
Things have been crazy around the Card house. Boo "discovered" curtains and Zach is constantly filling out applications for grad school and working full time. I am full time in a Kindergarten classroom in a nearby town and still delivering pizzas.
We had some time to take a break and celebrate Halloween on Wednesday. On Tuesday night, we carved our pumpkins. They turned out so cute and Boo had one too! We had a Kindergarten party (two actually! Morning and Afternoon Kindergarten!) and Zach (aka: Mr. Card) came and helped out almost the whole day. It was neat to have him there. We had lots of fun, then had about 15 trick-or-treaters come to our tiny house. They were so darling, but we have SO much leftover candy.
So much for being healthy. I'll be taking some of it to work to share today. For Halloween Zach and I were another wonderful couple costume. I was a wench and he was a pirate. Boo wore a Halloween dress with a pumpkin on it.

Halloween isn't my favorite, because I hate to be scared, hate scary movies, and I'm easily freaked out. I'm glad it's over and we can move on to happier holidays, but it was a fun year and I loved celebrating it with my darling husband! That's 3 Halloween's in a row! Looking forward to many more.

Falling for Fall
Yesterday Zach was kind enough to accompany me on a class field trip to the American West Heritage Center for my social studies class. It is a historical farm here in the valley, out towards Wellsville.
We got to go down a giant slide, play pioneer games, explore old stores, see an old cabin, and have a real life shoot out! It was a really cool opportunity. Zach and I went first, and I'll admit, it was a little scary, and against what I've been taught about gun safety, but we were shooting blanks, so it was ok.

Zach's a better shooter than me. He beat out my whole class and my teacher too! Just call him Quick-Hand Zach!
Zach and I with the wild west cowboys!
After the day at the heritage center, we saw it fitting to go somewhere that would keep the theme of history, so we had lunch at the Blue Bird Restaurant in downtown Logan. It was great!
Other than that adventure, things have been going really well. Zach is getting things together to apply for grad school in January and my graduation packet is in the mail right now! My classes end next week and I'll be full time in a kindergarten classroom and submitting assignments online until December. Boo is still funny as ever. She is getting bigger and is biting a lot more!
Boo and I watching Grey's Anatomy. She loves the TV/computer.
Before running errands on Today! Zach switched shifts so we spent the morning together.
Today, before work, we got to go to most of the Aggie Football Game.

Boo!
Zach and I had a date on Wednesday where we went go-karting and then visited the Cache Humane Society and fed the ducks, then went to have a delicious dinner at the White Owl! It was so much fun.
The next day, Zach picked me up at school with a baby kitten in the passenger seat of his car! I saw her the night before and loved her so so so much, so Zach got her for me! We named her Boo, her full name is Boo Hundie Card. She is about 9 weeks old and is fluffy, funny and just as cute as can be! I love her so so much. Zach is worried I'll go crazy and is constantly warning me not to become a "crazy cat lady" I assure you, I won't, but who couldn't love that little face? She is so darling :)

Go Karting! We get competitive |
This big ugly goose tried to scare away my ducks! What a bully!
I still love to feed them!
At first darn with my fantastic husband.
Welcome home Boo!
She is so tiny! She is smaller than a throw pillow and I can hold her with one hand!
Watching Psych with Zach (aka Daddy)
She's not a fan of car rides
She likes to help me do my homework.
Boo and her fancy purple collar.
We bought her this fancy bed but she'd rather sleep on a DI bag. I feel like those parents who get their kids nice toys for Christmas, and the kids only want to play with the box.
I love my baby Boo and she is such a fun addition to the Card family! Thanks for getting her for me Zach! You are the best. Merry (early) Christmas to me!

Aggies all the way!
Zach and I had the chance to attend the USU vs Utah game. It was incredible! We both had to plan for weeks to get work off and to get the homework done (for the most part) to be able to go and enjoy. We had an amazing time, and the Aggies won! 20-27 in a very intense over time. It was so much fun! We rushed the field, did the Scotsman, jeered, cheered and screamed our hearts out and had an fantastic time. I love going to games with my husband. We will forever be Aggie fans, no matter what!
Sitting 5th row! Not too shabby for sitting out since 1:00 pm for a 6:00 game!

After rushing the field. The Sig Ep and UState flag behind us! Go Aggies!

Things I've learned in 70 days of marriage and Tiny House...
Married life 101: Appreciate the little things.
First lesson learned. If you have to wake up at 6:30 for a class, and he is willing to set an alarm to ensure you get there on time, he loves you. If he lets you pick out the weekend movie and is willing to watch it over two days because you have a bedtime, he loves you. If he is willing to drive to the store because you "don't feel like it", he loves you. If he cleans the house while you're at school, he loves you. If he calls you at 11:05 to tell you he is going to be late, because he knows you worry, he loves you.
I know it's not a lot of learnings, but hey, it has been two months. I've got eternity to find a million things (and I'm sure I will be able to)What's new?
We moved. We moved from apartment (our little apartment by the Temple) to Tiny House (a house a few blocks down from campus in Logan) I absolutely love our Tiny house. My family has helped us out so much in getting it ready for back to school. We are all settled in and we have this darling yard and this cute family room and a bathroom we can both stand it..at the SAME TIME! It's a miracle, seriously. We finally got internet, and we also got some TV which keeps me company while Zach's at work. I'll be posting pictures very very soon! Also, I have to ride the bus to campus which is a new experience for me. And not having Zach up on campus with me and going to the Sig Ep house 24/7 is different.
I started school. I will graduate May 4, 2013 and I cannot wait. I am doing my Level 3 practicum for ELED (if you don't know what that means, its ok...sometimes I wonder if I do!) Then I will student teach in the Spring and then be done!
Zach is still working at LRA and I am a delivery driver for Papa John's. It has been a huge blessing that we can work similar shifts so we get to see each other for 5 hours every day.
I think that's it for the update on us. We still haven't gotten out our thank you's out for our wedding, so that is the new goal for the month of September. If you don't get one, Thank You. That, and survive this semester. Stay tuned! :)

Honeymoon Sweet
After the reception, we went to the Anniversary Inn in Logan. The next morning, we headed to Salt Lake Airport and lo and behold...we had missed our flight to Long Beach!
:O oh no!
So, after some aggression and creative thinking, we were able to get on the next flight to LAX airport. This little detour only put us behind 40 mins and $2.00 so it wasn't too bad.
We landed in Los Angeles and got on our shuttle. We were dropped off at the cruise dock and boarded the ship with time to spare. We wandered around the Carnival Splendor, and the boat took off!
The first day we laid out, ate a lot of food and just relaxed! It was exactly what we needed.
We were at sea for Monday, and on Tuesday we docked in Cabo San Lucas where we saw the famous Cabo Arch and went snorkeling!
We also got to go on a land tour and walk around the beautiful Lover's Beach in Mexico.
On Wednesday, we spent the day in Cabo again, and we rented jet ski's and did some shopping. We also got to go to Cabo Wabo in Mexico.
On Thursday, our ship docked in Puerta Vallarta Mexico, and Zach and I got to go swimming with dolphins! It was such a fun experience! And Zach found a giant lizard and actually touched it! :S

The cruise was a blast and we were able to fly home safely and then head down to Zach's hometown, Richfield, until July 4th, then we headed back to Logan to unpack and organize our cute little apartment. Now we are ready to continue our lives together and continue to grow in love!
